Comtats de Barcelona
The Origin of Corsario
Corsario is produced in Comtats de Barcelona, one of the most important regions within the Cava denomination.
Stretching from the Mediterranean coastline to the inland hills of northeastern Spain, this diverse area is shaped by a unique combination of climate, altitude and tradition. These conditions have made it one of Spain's most renowned regions for producing elegant sparkling wines.
The proximity of the Mediterranean brings freshness and balance, while the varied landscapes contribute complexity and character to the wines produced here.
A Region Defined by Diversity
Unlike many sparkling wine regions that rely on a single landscape, Comtats de Barcelona is composed of several distinct zones, each with its own identity.
From coastal influences and warmer inland valleys to elevated vineyards and limestone-rich soils, this diversity allows winemakers to craft wines with freshness, structure and remarkable versatility.
It is this combination of tradition, climate and craftsmanship that has helped establish the region as a benchmark for premium Cava production.
Valls d'Anoia-Foix
The Heart of Corsario
Corsario originates from Valls d'Anoia-Foix, the largest and most historic subzone within Comtats de Barcelona.
Located between the Mediterranean Sea and the inland hills surrounding Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, this area has long been regarded as the heartland of Cava production.
The vineyards benefit from a Mediterranean climate, moderated by cooling influences from both the sea and the surrounding elevations. This balance encourages slow ripening, preserving freshness while allowing the grapes to develop aromatic complexity.
The result is a style defined by elegance, fine bubbles and remarkable balance — characteristics that form the foundation of Corsario Reserva Brut.
Traditional Method
Corsario is crafted according to the Traditional Method, the same process used for the world's most celebrated sparkling wines.
After a second fermentation in bottle and careful ageing on the lees, the wine develops greater depth, complexity and finesse while retaining its vibrant freshness.
This dedication to craftsmanship remains at the heart of every bottle.
